Doctors Hospital of Laredo is assisting with the recruitment of primary care physicians to Laredo! New physicians could establish their own thriving practices with shared call coverage and a generous support packge from the hospital, or could potentially join an existing practice if preferred. Due to the tremendous growth the city of Laredo is enjoying, as well as the shortage of primary care in the area, it is expected that new physicians will be able to build thriving practices quickly.
Doctors Hospital is a 120-bed facility, and is one of two hospitals in the city. The hospital was opened in 1974 by a group of physicians, and a new physical plant was opened in 2001. Universal Health Services, Inc., the third largest healthcare corporation in the nation, subsequently purchased the hospital.
