Join 4 Family Practitioners in a suburb of Philadelphia. The practice was formed by doctors who had all enjoyed private practices of their own, but were looking to relieve some of that 24/7 burden of private practice. They have been in existence for 12 years. Their doctors decide upon their own schedules, share in the expense of operating the practice and in weekend coverage for each other. They currently use E-scribing and while still using paper charts, they are in the process of moving to an EMR.

The group has one physician who has decided to slow down and work part time which dictates the need for the group. The hours of work are Monday - Friday for scheduled visits, and each doctor in the practices takes a turn for weekend coverage where they open Saturday at 9A until Noon for sick visits only. That on-call doctor also handles the emergency phone calls for the weekend effectively giving the other doctors the weekend off. They rotate through all the doctors so right now with 4 doctors on staff, their doctors enjoy 3 weekends off a month.
