KRC.0909.0315.01 Family Medicine position for a community health center. This position is with or without OB. Currently on staff there are 31 employees that strive to give the best care possible. General Summary: Under the direction of the Medical Director, delivers primary care commensurate with training and experience to all patients. Delivers care appropriate for an out-patient, primary care community health center with multicultural, multilingual patient population.
Essential Functions: -Examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages. -Completes medical charts after each visit. -Assists in internal quality control audits. -Provides quality medical care according to the facility's standards on quality assurance. -Supervises medical assistants and lab personnel in area of specific support services for patient care delivery. -Attends all internal provider meetings, committees, as necessary and/or required. -Assist in the teaching and supervision of physician extenders, residents, and students. -Apply for and maintain hospital admission privileges as required by insurance participation. -In-service, conference attendance, quality-of-care training, and other duties as assigned by medical director.
Qualifications: -Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventive medicine. -Knowledge of the state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and to community health centers. -Knowledge of the structure and function of community health centers. -Valid Kansas State Board of Healing Arts Medical License. -Federal DEA Certification. -Board Certification in area of training or board eligible for a period not to exceed one year from employment. -Completion of a primary care residency program in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Meds/Peds. -Have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine and allied services commensurate with his/her training . -Demonstrate a special interest in the area of community medicine. -Ability to speak enough Spanish to examine Spanish-speaking patients and converse on basic level strongly preferred. -Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community.
