Alaska Family Practice

A critical access facility located in northwestern Alaska is looking for ongoing locums coverage for both the outpatient clinic and emergency room. A candidate that is experienced in Family Practice, Family Practice with OB and/or Acute-Emergency Care is needed. The outpatient clinic is located within the facility and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Since this is a walk-in clinic, the hours may vary. The emergency department is a stabilize and transfer facility where all major cases are transferred by jet to Anchorage. The ER schedule is based off of 12 hour shifts where you would be able to schedule as many as you would like depending on their availability. Although it is not required they are interested in candidates that have OB experience to assist with approximately 100 deliveries per month. The hours for this assignment can greatly expand with back-up call in the ER and weekend rounding in the hospital while the hospitalists are off. The facility does travel to remote locations for approximately one week every three months.
