Meadville Medical Center seeks a BE/BC Emergency Medicine physician to join Meadville Emergency Physicians. The group is currently comprised of six physicians with three mid-level providers. The emergency room sees approximately 36,000 patients per year and is currently pursuing Level III trauma accreditation. Physician should expect 14, 12 hour shifts per month.

Meadville Medical Center is a progressive, independent community medical center with an Emergency Department that utilizes 17 private rooms plus a dedicated Gyn and Eye room. This includes two trauma rooms, two occupational medicine rooms, and two fully equipped orthopedic rooms. Bedside registration and electronic T-Systems medical records are used in the emergency department. Approximately 50% of the hospital admissions enter through the ED. All the RN nursing staff is ACLS and ATLS certified. A privately licensed helipad is located in close proximity to the ambulance entrance.
Meadville Medical Center has a medical staff of over 140, with 37 medical and surgical specialties represented. The acute care facility provides the newest technology for diagnostic, surgical, obstetrical and emergency services, while the non-acute facility offers inpatient mental health, drug and alcohol rehab, physical rehab, transitional care, newly renovated (summer 2009) outpatient surgery and a pain management center.
Meadville Medical Center has a service area of approximately 96,000 and is located in close proximity to Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Cleveland. Multiple lakes and woodlands offer year-round recreation including hunting, fishing, skiing, power and sail boating. Allegheny College, a private liberal arts college, is located in Meadville and adds a significant cultural and educational facet to the community.
