Hospital Description:
UPMC Northwest is a state-of-the-art facility. Located in Seneca, Pennsylvania, this facility sees 30,000 patients annually, consists of 221 beds, and includes Behavioral Health, a Transitional Care Unit, and Rehabilitation Unit. Medicine, surgical, psychiatric, pediatric and geriatric patients, with some major trauma, are regularly treated in the Emergency Services Department (ESD). The department features areas for specific types of care including a six-bed fast track for patients with minor illnesses and injuries; a twelve-bed Emergency Services Department for more serious and life-threatening illnesses and injuries; and a six-bed Clinical Decision Unit for patients who need further observation, testing, or treatment before discharge or admission.

Location Description:
Seneca is located in western Pennsylvania, halfway between Pittsburgh and Erie. Situated in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains and on the banks of the Allegheny River, this growing area is four hours from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, two hours from Cleveland, Ohio, and 90 miles north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Rolling hills and expansive forests are a beautiful part of Cranberry Township that create a recreational area as Lake Erie is only 60 miles to the north making fishing, boating, and water recreation abundant. Scenic trails along the Allegheny River beckon the enthusiasts to enjoy biking, running, roller-blading, cross country skiing, or a leisurely walk. Nearby Franklin is only a short drive away and is home to the Two Mile Run County Park, the largest county park in western Pennsylvania. This area boasts of a moderate pace and a comfortable, carefree quality of life to be enjoyed by all.

Qualifications:
Must be board-eligible or board-certified in Emergency Medicine for the ED and Primary Care certified for the Fast Track.
