Pennsylvania Emergency

PhyAmerica Government Services is seeking Board Certified Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine physician(s) for positions at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System Emergency Department in Pittsburgh, PA. The Emergency Department operates twenty four (24) hours per day, three hundred sixty five (365) days per year.

Qualifications: Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice Medicine Any state license, full and unrestricted At least three years full-time experience working in an emergency department of comparable size and complexity BLS and ACLS certification United States citizen

Specific Tasks/Duties: The physician will be expected to provide appropriate medical treatment and management of emergent and general medical problems of adult patients in an emergency care environment. Work hours: Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to include all holidays and weekends. All patients are triaged using the 5-tier category system. During normal clinic hours, walk-in patients that have an assigned primary care provider and that do not require emergent or urgent care are treated in their respective clinics. During non-clinic hours, the ED provides urgent care to eligible veteran patients as their condition requires.

Community, Facility, & Organization: The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) is a division of the United States Governments Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System Emergency Department serves 56,468 eligible veterans in the western portion of the VISN 4 area. Most of these patients live within the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The ED averages 26,000 visits per year.
