Hospital Description:
Jefferson Memorial Hospital is a 210-bed, acute care facility that provides inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, medical, surgical, and cancer services to the communities of Jefferson County. The emergency department is going through a total renovation. On June 13th, 2006 the first phase of renovation was completed. The emergency department was expanded to 24 beds from the original 17 beds and also implemented a new Medi-Tech system. They also began using a computerized patient tracking system on this date. Phase 2 will consist of expanding with an additional 10 beds, giving the emergency department 34 beds.

Location Description:
The City of Crystal City was founded for the purpose of making glass. It is located in Jefferson County, 35 miles south of St. Louis, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of over 4,000 residents. The location of this facility, which is situated right on I-55, would allow physicians to easily commute from surrounding areas.

Qualifications:
Candidates must be board-certified in Emergency Medicine or will consider Primary Care with extensive Emergency Medicine experience. EM residents can moonlight during their 3rd and 4th years.
