A Level II trauma center in Massachusetts is looking for locum tenens Emergency Medicine coverage starting asap and continuing into 2010. The ED will consider permanent candidates as well or locum-to-permanent. FP's and IM's with ER experience and current ATLS/ACLS certification will also be considered. You will be working in a 60,000 annual volume ED seeing 20 patients per shift. Each shift has double coverage and sometimes triple covered. There is an full sub-specialty team available including Cardiology, Neurosurgical, GS, OBGYN (full maternity services, but not a high risk center), ORS, Interventional RDs, Pediatric Critical Care (stabilize and transfers patients, no ped ICU) and an on-site PSY crisis team. The facility has a 17% admission rate with the main ED seeing 28% rate. Neurologist come in on all potential thrombolytic acute stroke patients, Lab excellent run around times rarely a delay, X-Ray. ED docs read all plain films primarily. RD's available until 8 p.m. on weekdays and 6 p.m. on weekends.
