Hospital Description:
Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Chicagos first hospital, has remained committed to serving the Chicago community for 150 years. This 533-bed, teaching facility has a complete range of hospital-based services. Emergency physicians receive academic credentials as clinical instructors through the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The Emergency Department is a Level II Trauma Center with an annual volume of 39,000 patients. All medical specialties are represented at MHMC. An additional 30 to 40 hours of coverage are provided daily by Emergency Medicine residents. The ED consists of twenty-one private rooms, and the Minor Emergency Center has four private rooms. Monthly averages of patients are 48% medicine cases, 25% pediatric, 20% surgical, and 7% trauma with the emergency department admissions accounting for 44% of all hospital admissions and with 18% of the ED patients being admitted.

Qualifications:
Interested physicians must be board-certified or residency-trained in Emergency Medicine.
