Hospital Description:
Southern Illinois Healthcare is a not-for-profit healthcare system with three hospitals, several satellite facilities, over 2,000 employees and physicians. Herrin Hospital, a 94-bed, acute care facility recently the hospital underwent a $19 million addition that added space and moved the outpatient services to the hospitals main floor. The Emergency Department at Herrin Hospital sees over 20,000 patient visits annually. This 9-bed department has a centralized nurses stations and a designated trauma room. The ED has a 13% admission rate and has recently started a hospitalist program.

Location Description:
Herrin, Illinois, is a quaint community located in Williamson County in southern Illinois. Nestled near the Shawnee National Forest and the northwest extreme of the Ozark Mountains, over 11,000 residents enjoy the natural amenities that Herrin offers. There are seven area lakes within a 25-mile radius that have some of the best fishing in Illinois. Qualifications:
Candidates must be residency-trained, board-eligible or board-certified in Emergency Medicine or a Primary Care specialty with extensive Emergency Medicine experience.
