Hospital Description:
Founded in 1938 and 1927 respectively, Milford Memorial Hospital and Kent General Hospital merged in January 1997 to form Bayhealth Medical Center a not-for-profit health care organization. This is the second largest healthcare system in the state of Delaware. Milford Memorial Hospital is a 168-bed, Level III facility with a service population of approximately 80,000 residents and approximately 22,000 patients being seen annually in the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department is fully equipped and has 11 beds. There are two trauma/cardiac rooms, orthopedic, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatric and ENT rooms. The department has established a fast track area, which has five beds.

Location Description:

It is centrally located in the state of Delaware and lies at the intersection of two major north-south arteries, U.S. 113 and Delaware Route 1. It is also 50 miles from Wilmington and 20 miles from Rehoboth Beach, Delawares #1 resort town. Qualifications:
All physicians must be board-eligible and residency-trained in Emergency Medicine or board-certified in Emergency Medicine.
