CMO: General Summary: The CMO will oversee the quality and safety programs of the hospital; will work with CFO to develop robust physician profiling system and meet regularly with key physician groups to secure cooperation on quality, safety and utilization initiatives; function as an advisor to medical staff and risk management offices; will work to reconstitute physician CME program; be a liaison between medical staff and administrative team; and will also work with WHS CMO on development and implementation of CPOE.

Reports directly to hospital CEO and indirectly to WHS CMO

Education: Must have the following education/experience: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree; Medical Staff membership; Board certification in clinical specialty required; Advanced education such as MBA or MHA is desired; Minimum of 7 years of clinical physician practice experience; Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibility in leadership/managerial roles; Previous experience in a formal Medical Staff and previous experience as VPMA or CMO that reflects successful implementation of quality/organizational initiatives and basic experience in fiscal accounty/budgeting

License/Certifications: Must have a current, unrestricted clinical license, postgraduate experience in direct patient care, and Board Certification CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS
