Hospital in OH has a Cardiothoracic Program that has been in place for three years. Average about 60 - 70 Open Heart cases per year. Program was not focused on due to recent merger of hospitals being purchased by Triad and then CHS buying Triad in July 2007. Current Cardiothoracic Surgeon plans to leave practice at the end of October. Hospital committed to re-open the program. Cardiologists are committed to support it. Looking for an experienced CTS that can handle 60 -70 cases and thoracic until things ramp up. Potential to build to 100 - 110 cases. Coverage provided by part-time surgeon. Practice opportunity is located in a bedroom community of Camden and Akron. The community has excellent public, parochial and privates school systems. Several 4-year colleges nearby for high education.
Transportation has been the major factor in this citys growth. The Ohio-Erie Canal was an early stimulus, followed by rail service. It is served by three major railroads. Highway transportation also plays a key role in the citys development. US Route 21 (a four lane limited access highway) provides excellent access to Cleveland and Akron in the North, as well as I-77 and I-76. US Route 30 provides a good four lane east-west artery. Early industrial growth was in basic steel and large machinery. Today, the local economy has diversified and includes plastics, automotive products, packaging materials and consumer food products.
