Market Need: A GE 64-Slice CT was installed in October of 2006, followed by a second Cath Lab. Currently, Hospital has 2 cardiologists. One cardiologist has an independent practice and performs Interventional Cardiology procedures the second is an invasive cardiologist employed by the Hospital. Due to an unfortunate illness, Hospital lost the third cardiologist in November, 2008. The hospital is currently recruiting an interventional cardiologist to join a hospital employed group practice. An independent Cardiology Center was finished construction in January of 2008. Upon recruitment of a second Cardiologist to join this group the building will be furnished with Nuclear Camera, Stress Test and Echo. A share of ancillary revenue will be in addition to the cardiologist compensation package.

In one of our secondary market areas, there is a small 25 bed facility. The facility does not have a Cath Lab nor a cardiologist on staff or occupying the multi-specialty clinic. Because there has not been a consistent presence or relationship, most of the cases are migrating to our neighboring state. This is another volume opportunity for the new recruit.
