Trauma surgery (locum tenens) is a subspecialty of general surgery that focuses on treating physical, often life-threatening, injuries in an emergency room setting. These surgeons are responsible for stabilizing and resuscitating trauma patients as they arrive in the ER. Trauma surgeons typically focus on neck, chest, abdomen and extremities injuries, and often work with a team of specialized surgeons in order to provide the best possible critical care.

Facility Location
Kearney is home to the University of Nebraska which was founded in 1905. The citys Moto is: The Heart of Nebraska. There are two microbreweries there as well as the Museum of Nebraska art which houses artifacts from 175 years ago, as far back as the 19th century. The Viaero Event Center which seats 5,500 and hosts performances, events and concerts, is also located in Kearney.
