Job Description & Requirements
Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Hospital in southern Virginia is in need of vacation locums coverage for 2 weeks per month starting toward the end of March 2017 through July 1. The client is flexible on the weeks covered depending on the radiologist's availability. Team work environment, the radiologist will read 90-100 studies per day consisting of 40 plain film, 25 cat scan, occasional MR, 15 ultrasound, and 4 nuclear medicine studies. No mammography required. This job will focus on plain film, cast scan, ultrasound, and procedures. The radiologist will also perform usually 4-8 procedures per day including, thoracentesis, paracentesis, image guided biopsies, stereotactic biopsies, drain placements, barium studies, lumbar punctures, possible tunneled perm cath and IVC filter placement. The client prefers board certified candidates, but not a requirement. DEA is required for hospital credentials. The hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday -Friday and one night a week they would like the radiologist to stay till 7p

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
