Job Description & Requirements
Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 10/31/2016Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A radiology group is southern Illinois is in need of general diagnostic radiology coverage for a week a month ongoing, flexible on the dates. The radiologist must board certified unless they are recently out of school and then the group will consider a board eligible radiologist. This is a team environment in a community hospital setting. The hours are either 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm, no call. There are some weekends that are 8am to 5pm and worked like an average day, two radiologists on the weekend. The average day consists of 80 studies 10 cat scans, 10 ultrasounds, 10 MR, 6 mammograms, and 44 plain films. MQSA certification is required. It would be preferable if the radiologist could do a couple light interventional procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis, but it is not required. The group will not cover any travel and lodging expenses. The group utilizes McKesson PACS and a transcriptionist.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
