Job Description & Requirements
Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Client seeking diagnostic radiologists for ongoing, coverage starting November /December 2016. The hours are 8am to 5pm and the week could vary from Monday to Friday to a 3 or 4 day week with a weekend. The radiologist has an option to take evening call and/or read additional studies from 5pm to 8pm for additional pay. All radiologist candidates must be board certified, have NV and CA licensure, and a California x-ray license. The radiologist must be proficient in Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and minor procedures. Mammography is all digital and the practice uses Phillips - 1 - Sight PACS and Powerscribe 360. The average day consists of reading 90-100 studies per day consisting of 40 plain film, 20 cat scan, 4 nuclear medicine, 10 mammograms, 15 ultrasound and 10 MRI. The radiologists will also perform 3-4 paracentesis and thoracentesis and 3 biopsies if they are biopsy capable.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
