American Healthcare Resources is seeking a Part-time Psychiatrist in Daytona Beach to work 1-2 days per week.


Description:

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Psychiatrist has the overall clinical responsibility for monitoring patient treatment and clinical services. The physician provides psychiatric assessment diagnosis treatment, education, and medication management.


Duties:

 1.Act as psychiatric provider for all patients.
2.Conduct psychiatric assessments including psychiatric and medical history, course of illness, response to treatment, mental status examination, and Axis five DSM IV diagnosis and present assessment results. Share information with counseling staff and coordinate patient's treatment plan.
3.Collaborate with staff in assessment of patient physical health, making appropriate referrals to community agencies for further assessment and treatment, and coordinating medical treatments with psychiatric treatment.
4.Prescribe psychotropic medications and conduct regular assessments of therapeutic responses and side effects and educate patients regarding psychotropic medications.
5.Provide on-site crisis assessment and management of patients during regular work hours.


Qualifications:

 1.Must have at least two years' experience in psychiatry or working knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis and medications. Willing to provide continuing education.
2.Must be licensed to practice in the State of Florida.
3.Must have a clear understanding of the characteristics and problems of patients with severe mental illnesses and be knowledgeable of alternative treatment modalities.
4.Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community.
5.Possess and utilize effective verbal and written communication skills.
6.Ability to work independently and in collaboration with treatment plan.
