Northwest Texas Healthcare System is recruiting two Psychiatrists for The Pavilion in Amarillo, TX.
This is an employed position in a 90-bed facility, and can be structured as inpatient/outpatient or 100% inpatient. You will be working with four other Psychiatrists. Inpatients are split equally between the physicians, while also working in a full-service clinic operated by the hospital. There are approximately 8-12 PHP (partial hospitalization program) patients per day who must be seen twice per week. Call is one night per week and every fifth weekend with the assistance of an NP. The Psychiatrist on call handles all admissions; on weekends, the physician sees all of the patients and handles new admissions. The Psychiatrist would have to participate in treatment planning and team meetings. Compensation includes a salary, full benefits and ED call pay.

The city boasts many cultural activities, including the Amarillo Symphony and Opera, the Lone Star Ballet and a variety of theater groups. Recreational activities are plentiful. Amarillo offers a spectacular botanical garden, numerous art galleries and museums, and outdoor activities, including golf, hiking and biking. The city is located minutes from Palo Duro Canyon State Park, the second largest canyon in the country, and is on Historic Route 66. Amarillo is just four hours from Oklahoma City and Albuquerque and an hour flight to Dallas or Denver.
