Psychiatrist - Geriatrics - (Psychiatry - Geriatric) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 04/01/2016Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Geriatric Psychiatrist needed in northwestern Oregon facility for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity.

Geriatric psychiatry (locum tenens) involves the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders which may occur in senior age adults. Examples of the disorders treated in geriatric psychiatry are: depression, anxiety, dementia, and schizophrenia. A geriatric psychiatrist will be seen by patients who have difficulty coping with death, stress, memory problems, change, agitation associated with dementia, or trouble sleeping. Geriatric psychiatrists will also treat older adults who have emotional problems associated with chronic pain, heart disease, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and other medical disorders. Geriatric psychiatry is designed to help older patients cope with changes in health and function.
