Two Pediatric Hospitalists Needed Near Washington, DC

LOCATION:   Virginia  (suburbs of Washington DC.  This hospital is located within a 30-minute commute to Washington, DC.)

 

PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:

  • Availability:  Although this group needs two pediatric Hospitalists immediately, they will also consider 2017 residency graduates.  They need two physicians NOW but will consider 2017 residency graduates. 
     
  • Two Pediatric Hospitalists are urgently needed to join a Pediatric Hospitalist group in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC.
     
  • Two physicians unexpectedly needed to leave this Pediatric Hospitalist group
     
  • Because of the relocations of the husbands of two of their pediatric Hospitalists, there is an urgent need to fill these two unexpected positions.
     
  • This highly respected organization has been providing Pediatric services to the Washington, DC area for over 43 years.  Normally, they have little to no turnover. 
     
  • Work Schedule:  The two new physicians will rotate during day and night positions.  Typically, the workweek will average 40 hours. 
     
  • Duties/Responsibilities:  Duties include:

    • Caring for pediatric patients on the floor
       
    • The Pediatric Hospitalist is the first line of defense for the Level III NICU.  She or he will be on call for the NICU and care for patients when needed until the Neonatologist arrives. 
       
    • The Pediatric Hospitalist will be on call for consultations in the Emergency Department. 
       
    • She or he will do rounding on the newborn nursery. 
       
    • The Pediatric Hospitalist will also attend high-risk deliveries as well as all Caesarean sections.
       
  • Their hospital is trying to expand its pediatric services.  They plan to build a Pediatric Emergency Department in the near future.
