As a Pain Manangement Physician your duties will be:

  • Act as subject matter medical expert in managing patients with extreme and chronic pain
  • Examine patients to determine discomfort level and cause of pain
  • Recommend tests to determine extent of pain, help diagnose condition, or manage pain
  • Provide relief from acute or chronic pain through the use of medications, nerve blocks, electrical stimulation, or other therapies
  • Experience with patients who have substance use disorders, particularly in managing patients who are interested in substance use treatment
  • Provide same-day clinical assessment and treatment for pre-crisis intervention.
  • Consult with extensivists/hospital physicians regarding transitions following notification of member transfer.
  • Collaborate with care management staff and PCPs/facility staff to enable medical necessity determinations for requested medical services.
  • Educate members and/or their legal representatives on medical  issues affecting members and ways to manage them effectively, as well as to promote wellness.

  • Board Certified Physician
  • Doctor of Medicine M.D. or Doctor of Ostepathy D.O. from an accredited educational institution
  • Current Stale Licence
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registrations for the purpose of writing prescriptions
  • Home based Care Experience
  • Knowledge in working with Buprenorphine
  • Must be comfortable and have experience in working with safety net patients
  • Experence dealing with a complex set of patients with a relatively high level of acuity
  • Knowledge of clinical standards of care
