Job Description & Requirements
Obstetrician / Gynecologist - Physician - (Obstetrics / Gynecology - OB Gyn) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

The Indian Health Center in Northeast Arizona is in need of a full spectrum OBGYN Physician Service to outpatients and inpatients. On some weekdays the contractor will staff the outpatient OBGYN clinic, seeing 8 to 14 patients per half day of clinic. Clinic hours are 8:00 to 5. On some weekdays the contractor will cover the inpatient OBGYN service during the day, consisting of OBGYN backup and consultation for Labor and Delivery, the Emergency Department, and other services within the facility. The contractor will perform surgical procedures as needed, including, but not limited to, Cesarean sections, sterilizations, and emergent gynecologic procedures.
The contractor will assist other members of the department in surgical procedures.
The contractor will take night call approximately 1 to 2 times per week. During call hours (4pm to 8am) the contractor will provide OBGYN backup and consultation for Labor and Delivery, the Emergency Department, and other services within the Hospital.

Obstetrics/gynecology(locum tenens) focuses on women's health, caring for pregnant women during child birth and diagnosing and treating conditions of the female anatomy, specifically the reproductive system. An OB/GYN physician diagnoses and provides treatment for medical conditions such as breast and cervical cancer, urinary tract disorders, and hormonal ailments. These physicians also assist and treat pregnant women throughout their pregnancies, regularly monitoring the patient's progress and, in many cases, delivering babies and examining newborns.

Required Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible OBGYN
BLS, ACLS, DEA required
Any State License

This 60-bed Indian Health Services facility serves as the main healthcare provider in the region, providing care to over 35,000 residents (mostly members of the Navajo Nation). The facility offers comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care and a wide range of specialties, including general surgery, obstetrics, and a 24/7 ER.

The name of Chinle comes from the Navajo "flowing out," a reference to the Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Chinle is the closest town to Canyon de Chelly and visitors to the city will no doubt want to take in its splendor.
