CHOICES is seeking an entrepreneurial physician to serve as our Director of Obstetrics, and launch a new program for our innovative non-profit reproductive health practice in Memphis, TN.
Our Director of Obstetrics will play a critical role in developing our community’s first freestanding Birth Center featuring Centering Pregnancy pre-natal care and OB and/or midwife- assisted deliveries. We are looking for a creative, pro-choice physician, who will be energized by working in a collaborative team practice model alongside Certified Nurse Midwives.
Scope of practice includes obstetrics, gynecology, gay and lesbian healthcare, transgender hormone management, reproductive life planning including contraception and fertility assistance, 1st trimester medication and surgical abortions, reproductive health services for people living with HIV/AIDS, menopause management, miscarriage management, colposcopies, LEEPs and other GYN office procedures.
CHOICES clinicians and staff enjoy active clinical and research partnerships with highly respected institutions including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Methodist University Hospital, Vanderbilt University, the University of Memphis, Rhodes College, the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals, Path2Parenthood, and many others.
The clinic is active in local, state and national advocacy for reproductive health and social justice, and is a founding partner of the statewide advocacy coalition Healthy & Free Tennessee.
Founded in 1974, CHOICES is an independent, non-profit community health center that provides comprehensive reproductive health care to women, men and teens.
Our clinicians train medical students and advanced nurse practitioners, and provide training for clinicians in fertility options for persons living with HIV, and on integrating HIV services with reproductive health care services. Our goal is to transform the way reproductive health care is perceived and provided in our community.
