Christiana Care Health System is searching for a full time OBGYN responsible for the performance of on-site consultation, oversight and participation in the delivery of general obstetrical and gynecological care both in hospital and ambulatory services, on behalf of the Department of OB/GYN. Additional coverage will be in the Triage area as well as scheduled and on call services in Labor & Delivery. Clinical responsibilities will be mutually agreed upon between the physician and the Associate Service Line Leader, in concert with the Department Chair.
Preference will be given to physicians who have demonstrated proficiency and scholarly achievement in an aligned area of women’s health. Support to enhance such expertise will be prioritized.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
•Evaluate, diagnose and treat obstetrical and gynecological problems at Christiana Care Health Services and affiliated community partners
•Precept residents, students and specified health care professionals, as appropriate, in the operating room, labor and delivery suite, triage, ambulatory and other sites necessary
•Assist in practice management supporting the Chair of the Department, Administrative Director of the Department, and Practice Manager
•Contribute to the educational program for residents, fellows, and medical students in obstetrics and gynecology
•Work cooperatively with other members of the division and department in outreach programs
•Provide additional obstetrical and gynecological medical services as part of on-call responsibility.
•Demonstrate academic curiosity through continued research, publications or contributions to education
•Assist community partners in “seamless” care model coordinated with CCHS
•Other duties as reasonably assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
Post-graduate degree from an accredited medical institution
Completion of accredited OB/GYN residency
Extended knowledge of OB/GYN related issues Board-eligible or Board-certified
