Faculty: Trauma Neurosurgery
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine is seeking one full time faculty member at the tenure or non-tenure level of Assistant/Associate Professor in Neurosurgery with UF Health Jacksonville is the only level 1 trauma center covering Northern Florida and Southeast Georgia. The Jacksonville area has over 1.3 million people. The Department of Neurosurgery at UF Health Jacksonville has 7 adult neurosurgeons and 4 pediatric neurosurgeons. UF Health Jacksonville has a 16 bed Neuro ICU with 24 hour Neuro ICU specialist coverage. UF Health Jacksonville Neurosurgery has an academic partnership with The Mayo Clinic involving research, residents and fellows. The position also gives the opportunity to teach neurology, OMFS, trauma surgery and orthopedic residents. UF Health OMFS is one of the premier programs in the country and our partner in our Skull Based Center. Additionally, each member of the faculty has a dedicated mid-level provider. The selected applicant will have a great opportunity to build through a large referral base an outstanding neurosurgical practice.
The candidate will be responsible to provide and maintain high quality and compassionate care to both inpatients and outpatients suffering from a variety of disorder primarily consisting of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and elective spinal disorders. The candidate will work to enhance and further develop the UF Health Jacksonv We also provide services at a stand-alone pediatric hospital. We have a newly built Medical Office Building that will soon feature a private full service hospital. We also have a stand-alone Proton Beam center in our campus.
