Job Description

Premise Health is seeking a full time Med-Ped physician for their direct care clinic in Sunnyvale, CA

Summary:

The Pediatrician will be responsible for performing routine health assessments of children to check for illnesses or disabilities including communicating with patients and their parents to help them maintain healthy habits, administering vaccinations for common viruses or allergies and referring patients to specialists based on their needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct routine check-ups and screenings for pediatric patients.
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses and infections in children.
  • Monitor and assess the growth and development of infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Provide expert medical advice to parents or guardians regarding their child's health.
  • Discuss treatment options and collaborate with families on healthcare decisions.
  • Administer vaccinations and immunizations according to established guidelines.
  • Promote preventive care measures and educate parents on child safety and nutrition.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
  • Document examinations, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and support staff.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment plans.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in pediatric medicine.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Handle pediatric emergencies with calmness and efficiency.
  • Provide immediate medical care during critical situations.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least three years of post-residency clinical experience
  • Experience in a primary care, urgent care or emergency room setting. (Occupational healthcare experience may apply in some clinics).
  • State licenses topractice
  • Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice/oversite)
  • State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required in your state (Alabama, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana-paperless, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri-paperless, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Puerto Rico.) (New York ROPES registration)
  • Current board certificate: American Board of Pediatrics (ABP)
  • Current dispensing license/registration
  • Medical Degree
  • CPR (BLS for the Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer or ACLS-the copy must include the front and back of card as applicable) Certification must include 'hands on' evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor. Total on-line courses will not be accepted. Course must also meet the American Heart Association (AHA) standards but need not be an AHA certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations.

For individuals living in California only, Premise Health is required to include an estimate of the salary and benefits for this role. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California compensation for a pediatrician is $375,000 to $395,000 per year.
