Job Description & Requirements
Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 10/02/2017Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

The Physician will be seeing new and established adult patients, in an outpatient setting. Physician will manage an average of 12-16 patients per day. Physician will evaluate and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, with occasional minor office procedures within the general internal medicine and family practice skills. Any US state license will suffice. The Provider will need proof of Board Certification, or Board Eligibility documentation. Physician will need to provide copies of BLS and DEA, as well. VA experience is preferred, but not required. The Provider must be proficient with computers and EMR system. The schedule is expected to be Monday-Friday, from 8:00AM-4:30PM, with no call and occasional over-time expected.


Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
