Job Description & Requirements
Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 09/05/2017Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

The Provider will need to be board certified or board eligible in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
The Physician will be seeing new and established adult patients, in an outpatient setting. Physician will manage an average of 12-15 patients per day. Physician will evaluate and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, with occasional minor office procedures within the general internal medicine and family practice skills. Any US State license will suffice. Board Certified or Board Eligible documentation will be required. The Physician will need copies of BLS and DEA certifications. VA experience preferred, but not required. The Provider must be proficient with computers and EMR system. The expected work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM, with up to 20 hours of possible over-time.



Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.

The festivals, the restaurants and the night life are a few of the main attractions in New Orleans, and theres always the French Quarter, established by the French in 1718, that is a must go place. Bourbon Street is where the upscale lounges and historic restaurants and jazz clubs are to be found. No wonder the first opera in North America was performed in New Orleans!
