Dates: ASAP - ongoing, but will take physicians with limited availability
Assignment confirms on 30-day increments
Outpatient only, Monday - Friday, 40-hour work week
No weekend or holiday call required
- have done US residency and be board eligible or board certified in family practice or internal medicine
- not have lapse in active practice > 6 months leading up to potential employment with the facility
- be available for at least 4 weeks unless specifically requested, and
- have the ability to see at least 16 to 20 patients per day.
Chinle Service Unit provide medical care for approximately 35,000 Navajo. Serving a rural area, many of our patients travel 100 miles round trip to receive care and do not have electricity or running water in their homes. And, most of our elderly patients speak only Navajo, and live according to traditional Navajo cultural practices. The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility and Ambulatory Care Center is a 60 bed inpatient hospital and outpatient facility. Services offered are: Adult inpatient and Pediatric Inpatient Care, Outpatient Primary Care, Adult Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Podiatry, OBGYN, Labor & Delivery, Women's Health, Midwifery, Mental Health, Pharmacy, Optometry, Dental, PT, OT, Speech Pathology, Audiology, Lab, Public Health and School Health.
As a Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician, you shall provide professional medical services or direct patient care services, appropriate and timely medical services in accordance with the standards of care established by recognized medical care organizations and in accordance with the policies and procedures of Service Unit's Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations, including attendance at department and medical staff meetings at Chinle hospital.
