Outstanding, growing and stable multi-specialty group seeks two BE/BC internists for full-time positions ASAP. They can wait for 2017 graduating residents but can also put a practicing internist to work immediately based on two retirements that will occur within the next year as well as the sheer growth that the group is currently experiencing. They cover a large level-one trauma center as well as multiple outpatient facilities including a fairly new outpatient surgery center that is projected to experience significant growth in the near future. This will be a pseudo-academic positon where there will be teaching requirements of the local IM residents, so candidates must have interest and/or experience in the teaching realm as well as some degree of passion for it.
This is very much a lifestyle-oriented position with a group that has a solid hospitalist program in place minimizing any call or after-hours duties. Half of your day will be spent in teaching clinics whereby you will see 4-5 patients followed by the other half of your day in more of a pure private practice setting where you will see a range of 10-12 patients, some inpatient but mostly outpatient. You will receive a faculty appointment commensurate with experience and there are publishing and research opportunities available, but neither are required as the ability/desire to teach residents is mainly what they seek from an academic perspective. It's a very upbeat, positive environment in which to work where everyone gets along well and they completely subscribe to a team approach regarding day-to-day duties and problem solving. No ICU rounds as hospitalists cover that work.
They are offering a very competitive compensation package with bonus income potential after the first year, moving allowance and full benefits including: excellent malpractice insurance, health insurance for you and your family, and both long and short-term disability insurance for the unexpected illness of injury. As well, there are matching contributions to a 403B retirement plan in addition to (not deducted from) salary along with 33 days of personal and sick time and five professional CME days with an annual $2K CME allowance. They also pay for all of your medical society dues as well as handling and paying for your Tennessee licensure. And yet another perk is that your personal/sick days accrue and can be "banked" for future year's use. You never lose them!
With this opportunity you can experience an excellent lifestyle and work environment in a nice, growing metro area. They experience an excellent four-season climate with winters yielding very rare storms and moderate temperatures through January and February. There is easy access to three large lakes, professional sports, opera, museums, and plenty of other cultural amenities. There is a historic housing district with over 500 homes and any type of housing you desire within an easy commute of the hospital as well as nice suburban areas. Some of the area schools are highly ranked in the country, with several prestigious private schools readily available. There are churches of every denomination and every type of restaurant you could imagine. The city is the home to several Fortune 500 companies and its cost-of-living is relatively low combined with no state income tax! There is an international airport that gives you easy access to most parts of the country with non-stop flights and the airport itself is an easy drive from anywhere in the city.
