BC internist experienced with Hospice care needed to join a not-for-profit that provides services that enhance the comfort and quality of life for people experiencing the impact of serious illness and loss. As Medical Director you will work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and have overall responsibility for the medical component of patient care for the hospice program and for ensuring achievement and maintenance of quality standards of professional medical care. Your time will be 50% clinical and 50% administrative acting as a consultant to Chief Compliance Officer, Associate Medical Directors, and Interdisciplinary Team for the implementation of the clinical program reflecting the hospice philosophy of care, mission, principles of practice, and goals. The successful candidate will conduct team meetings, attend QAPI and Board meetings as requested and insures physician participation in all IDT meetings and monitors same on a rotating basis. In addition, the Medical Director will create and participate in programs to review targeted patient charts, e.g., live discharges, long stay and selected diagnoses. Insures physician coverage for eligibility review and documentation of all hospice admissions. May perform palliative care consultations for strategic partners and participates in rounds and on-call rotation. Board certification in Internal Medicine required and strong preference for certification in geriatrics and/or palliative care.
