Job Description & Requirements
Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day

Dates of Coverage Needed: ASAP - February 2017
Schedule: 07:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7 PM - 7 AM
Shifts: Seven (7) on, Seven (7) off
12-15 Patients Per Day
1-3 Admissions
Nights: For calendar year 2015 our average number of night admits was 4.8.

Night doctors carry a code pager. Most nights no code calls.

Usually there is one doctor on at night but we often have a NP on a swing shift from 7 to 12 during weeknights if none of the NPs are on vacation.

No Procedures Required
Open ICU
Epic EMR (Training)
Requirements: Must be Board Certified.
We can get Temporary License in 2 Weeks with Clean Background. Permanent License in 90 days.
Privileging takes 15-30 days.

A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.
