Job Description & Requirements
Hematology Oncologist - (Hematology Oncology - Hem-Onc) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

The VA is in need of a full time hematology oncologist for services at Wilmington VAMC. The providers can be either board certified or eligible, They must have a current DEA and BLS and ACLS, The daily work will included Inpatient & Outpatient. Consults for Medical, Surgical, and Psychiatric inpatients, as well as the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit. Reporting of results of examinations as well as diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 90% of time will be spent with direct patient care and 10% Administrative. The hours for this need are Monday thru Friday from 8am-430pm, and there is some call or overtime required. The facility will allow you to have any active and unrestricted state license. This is a 6 month need with a possible extension of 6 more months.

A hematology oncologist (locum tenens) is a physician that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of blood diseases and different types of cancer. Physicians in this specialization have combined oncology and hematology fellowships in order to diagnose and treat cancers and benign conditions of the blood. These physicians frequently deal with end-of-life conditions, helping with quality of life and often forming strong, impactful relationships with their patients.
