AAFP Works With WellPoint to Produce CME Bulletin on Childhood Obesity

The AAFP's latest CME Bulletin, "Assessment, Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity," tackles a health issue many practicing family physicians are becoming all too familiar with: managing obesity in their younger patients. According to the bulletin, obesity in children and adolescents has more than doubled in the past 25 years and can have a significant adverse impact on adult health, including the potential for pulmonary, endocrine, gastrointestinal, hepatic, reproductive and cardiovascular disorders.

LearningLink Debuts With Series on Managing Pain

The AAFP has launched a new online classroom, dubbed LearningLink, that provides Academy members with CME in multiple formats. The free program focuses on specific diseases or medical conditions, with pain management as the first topic.
AIM Webcast on Heart-Healthy Foods Scheduled for Aug. 7

AAFP members looking for ways to help patients improve their overall health are invited to register for a CME webcast designed to teach physicians how to encourage patients to add heart-healthy foods to their diets. The webcast is part of the Academy's Americans in Motion, or AIM, fitness initiative.
